UK to Phuket

There is now a nonstop, and it is new: Virgin Atlantic starts London Heathrow to Phuket on 18 October 2026, three times a week, and only for the winter. Outside that window and outside Heathrow it is one stop, and the cheapest of those is usually through Bangkok.

Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Heathrow, departing 12:00 and arriving 07:10 the next morning; Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays back, departing 09:20 and landing 16:00. It is the only nonstop between Britain and Phuket, and it does not run in the northern summer, which is also when Phuket is in its monsoon.

The Gulf carriers through Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or Bangkok on Thai Airways or EVA with a domestic hop of ninety minutes onward. Bangkok is usually cheapest and has the advantage that the second leg is a Thai domestic flight rather than a long-haul connection.

The season changes this. The nonstop and the season line up, which is not a coincidence. Virgin flies it from October to March, which is roughly Phuket's dry window; from May to October the island is in the southwest monsoon and the flight does not operate.

These times and fares come from booking agents and route aggregators, not from operator timetables. Most Thai ferry and minivan operators publish no English schedule. Treat every figure as a planning range and confirm it before you build a day around it. Last read on 20 August 2026, from Virgin Atlantic press release and FlightsFrom, LHR to HKT.
