Thailand Frontier is an independent travel guide to Thailand. We cover the country the way most people actually travel it: a few days in Bangkok, a stretch of coast or islands, and often a run north to Chiang Mai. Our job is to help you decide where to go, what is worth your time, and how to arrange it without the guesswork.
We are a small editorial team, not a booking agency or a tour operator. Everything on the site is written to be read by a traveller who wants a straight answer, not a brochure.
Who writes Thailand Frontier
Our guides carry a byline so you know who stands behind them.
- Ploy Saetang covers culture and history: the temples, palaces, food and the context behind them.
- Krit Wattana covers travel and planning: getting around, where to stay, day trips, budgets and itineraries.
Between them they handle the two halves of a good trip, the sights and the logistics.
How we work
We check every guide against official and first-party sources: the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the venues and operators themselves, and the relevant transport and heritage authorities. Where a detail changes often, such as opening hours, entry fees or visa rules, we tell you the general picture and point you to the official source for the current figure rather than printing a number that will quietly go out of date.
We do not invent facts, reviews or ratings, and we do not claim first-hand experiences we have not had. When something is a matter of opinion, we say so and explain the reasoning. Our full standards are set out in our editorial guidelines.
How the site is funded
Thailand Frontier is free to read. We pay for it through affiliate partnerships: when you book a tour or a hotel through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those partnerships never decide what we cover or what we say about it. The full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
