These guidelines explain how Thailand Frontier researches, writes and maintains its guides, and how we keep our editorial judgement separate from our commercial partnerships. They apply to every page on the site.
Sources and accuracy
We build each guide from official and first-party information: the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the temples, museums and operators themselves, and the relevant transport and heritage authorities. Where useful we cross-check against established reference works and current, on-the-ground knowledge of the places we cover.
Some details change too often to state as fixed facts. Opening hours, entry fees, transport fares and visa conditions all fall into that group, and they can vary by nationality or season. For those we give you the general picture and direct you to the official source for the current, authoritative figure. We would rather send you to the right place than print a number that dates.
Honesty
We do not fabricate anything. That means no invented statistics, no made-up quotes, no fake reviews or star ratings, and no first-hand claims we cannot stand behind. Where a popular belief or superlative is uncertain, we hedge it and say why. If we get something wrong, we correct it.
Independence from commercial partners
Thailand Frontier earns commission through affiliate links to tour and accommodation partners, explained in full in our affiliate disclosure. Those relationships do not buy coverage. No partner can pay to be recommended, to change an assessment, or to remove criticism. We link to a tour or a hotel because it fits what the page is about, not because of what it pays.
A simple test we hold ourselves to: if the affiliate programmes disappeared tomorrow, the advice on the page would read exactly the same.
Who is responsible
Every guide is written under a named byline so you can see who produced it. Our writers and their areas are set out on the about page. Editorial decisions rest with the team, not with any advertiser or partner.
Corrections and updates
We revise guides as places, routes and rules change. If you find something inaccurate or out of date, tell us through the contact page and we will check it against the source and fix it where needed.
